So, I don’t feel too bad about my food choices today and yesterday. Reason being is that I realized, yes- one can have some limited amount of veggies while on this fat fast, as shown by Martina’s suggested meal plan on her website, Keto Diet App.
I’m completely satiated and have no desire to eat. I’ve no cravings either. Shocking! I’m on day two of this fast and already feel like it is working better than the egg fast that I did two weeks ago.
Keeping it simple yet again tonight with the below. Nothing too exciting.
I am not going to lie, my week of intermittent fasting was a bust. I lost my focus after completing the first half of it. Oops. Oh well, gotta move on!
Earlier this morning, I prepared lamb ribs marinated in garlic, fresh rosemary, salt, and pepper for dinner. Once I got home from work, they went into 400F/204C oven for about 40 minutes. Here’s a photo of the ribs before they went into the oven. I don’t have an after photo today, but I’m sure you get the picture.
To add, the fat on the lamb really filled me up. I had to cut most of it out because the rib had such a thick layer of fat on it. It was heavenly, though.
I will say that my first day of the fat fast did include some salad greens and peanut butter. So quite honestly, it is not a fat fast in its purest form. I did manage to clock in at well under 20 net carbs today (I added fiber to the below chart), so it wasn’t all that bad. I’ll try better tomorrow.
The past few days have been nothing but gloomy in Annapolis. Finally, the sun came out and the lush vegetation outside is basking in it. The butterflies are starting to flutter around my butterfly bush that my friend, Ashley and her mother, Dianne gave to me last summer.
Gidget, my rascally toy poodle has been outside in the yard for most of the day with her beloved tennis ball today. Cha Cha, the labradoodle has been sunbathing on the patio, occasionally coming into the house to let me know that she deserves a treat for “keeping watch.” She was in a fantastic mood, so much so that she let me take goofy pictures of her.
I am keeping this post short again as it is the end of the week and I’d like some time to relax. I’m so glad I completed this egg fast. I can’t believe I stuck with it. I was seriously contemplating breaking the Egg Fast and eliminating eggs for my last meal of the day. But, my friend Nick (he will be featured this Summer!) told me to not give up. So I didn’t. Thanks to him, I finished! Thanks, buddy!
I’m not going to put weight measurements in this post today. Please check out Day 1 for the salsa omelet idea.
AM: Bullet Proof Coffee
1/3 cup of Nacho Cheese
2 tbs Salsa
1 100 calorie pack of Wholly Guacamole. (YES, YES, I caved! I confess my sins. It gave me the fat though, right? )
Okay. Now I’m feeling it. I am totally over eggs and cheese. And the large amounts of fat. Do I even want to be on keto while intermittent fasting next week? Maybe I’ll just keep it low-carb. I need vegetables. Salad. Salad!
I can’t wait until my last day of this fast. Will I ever do this again? I will never say never, but I certainly will not for a long time. I must say though, I did manage to lose 3.1lb on this by day 4. But, based on what I’ve been reading I may gain some of the weight lost while transitioning out of the fast.
The past two weeks has been a roller coaster. My stress levels have been higher than usual due to a few things here and there. It’s a combination of a bunch of good and bad things happening all at once. I’m having a bit of trouble on how to process all of it. But seriously, who isn’t stressed out over something these days? I’ll figure it out eventually.
Phase one of my “back-on-track” plan went relatively well. Phase two, not so much. That’s the short version. Now I’m about to enter Phase 3, which is to do an Egg Fast starting the 8th through the 12th of this month. I really wonder if I can make this happen. I’m not sure if I even trust myself since the past two weeks haven’t been the best.
Other than my family and friends that are being super nice and following my blog (thank you and I love you!), I seriously haven’t a clue who else would read this. I am happy to see a small, steady flow of visitors almost every day so that makes me feel fulfilled. I am still hopeful and will make an announcement anyway.
No recipe or food photos this time. This post will describe my month-long series that I’ve planned for May 2017. The series will center on transitioning back to a low-carb, high fat/Ketogenic diet, post-dietary derailment.
